The Easiest Vegan Cheese Sauce

Cheese is such a huge staple in the American diet, but over the years I've noticed a huge connection to cheese and feeling bloated, foggy, and this might be TMI, but constipation. The commercial dairy industry has become pretty corrupt, and honestly I love showing people that they don't NEED cheese or dairy to complete their meals! My Vegan Cheese Sauce is SO easy, decadent, heart warming, and it packs that deep cheesy flavor without any dairy! Keep your body feeling light and nourished while still feeling satisfied with your meals!




The Easiest Vegan Cheese Sauce

Makes 2 Cups


INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 Tablespoons of Vegan Butter or Olive Oil

  • 2 Tablespoons Flour

  • 1 Cup of Nutritional Yeast

  • 2 Cups of Unsweetened Plain Almond Milk

  • 1 teaspoon Salt

  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder

  • 1 teaspoon Cumin

  • 1/4 teaspoon Paprika

  • A few dashes of hot sauce (optional)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a small sauce pot, melt the Vegan Butter or Olive Oil

  2. Sprinkle the flour into the pot

  3. Using a rubber spatula, stir the ingredients together for 2-3 minutes until it form a dark Golden roux

  4. Quickly pour in the Almond Milk

  5. Switch to a whisk

  6. Add in the Nutritonal Yeast and all the seasonings

  7. Turn off the heat

  8. Whisk together until silky and smooth

  9. Add hot sauce (optional)

  10. If you want it thinner, you can always add more Almond Milk :)
